Although companies regularly turn to their property insurance policies to address physical damage following a natural disaster, that is not the only risk companies face.  Often times, companies lose earnings because their suppliers or customers are also impacted.  In this article, Michael Gehrt discusses contingent business interruption (CBI) coverage, which protects insureds against loss caused by damage to the property of suppliers, customers, and other third parties upon which the insured depends.
