Bio
Owen A. Monkemeier is an associate in the Los Angeles office. Owen has represented insured entities and individuals in complex coverage disputes, including first and third-party claims under commercial general liability insurance and property insurance policies. Owen previously represented issuers, underwriters, and selling stockholders in private and SEC-registered debt and equity offerings, and related acquisition finance and private equity transactions.
While attending law school, Owen was a member of the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism, the Civil Rights & Capital Assistance Project, and a medical-legal partnership with the Yale Gender Program, as well as the social chair of the Outlaws and First-Generation Professional student groups. Owen’s prior legal experience includes externships with the civil rights firm Loevy & Loevy and the National Center for Lesbian Rights. Owen has represented clients in New York and California, in state and federal courts.
