Partner Anamay M. Carmel is an advocate for corporate and individual insureds, securing insurance coverage for clients under production, directors and officers liability, errors and omissions, general liability, professional liability, contingency, and property policies. Clients turn to Ms. Carmel to navigate complex insurance disputes, take on large insurance institutions, and secure coverage for her clients. She has also resolved several matters with novel and important questions regarding the interpretation of policy language.

Ms. Carmel has built a reputation for obtaining hundreds of millions of dollars for policyholders for entertainment-related losses for clients in film, television, theater, music and sports, including theatrical production companies, film production companies, television production companies, musicians, festival organizers, sports teams, and individuals. Many of these entertainment liability losses are caused by event cancellation, postponement, disruptions to production, licensing issues, and cast and crew non-appearance.

While Ms. Carmel advises policyholders with the goal of avoiding litigation, she is always prepared to fight through trial when necessary. She is experienced in representing insureds in all stages of litigation, including national and international arbitrations and at mediations.

In addition to insurance coverage representation, Ms. Carmel has successfully handled general business lawsuits, bankruptcy matters and contract disputes. This background has given her a deep understanding of the types of disputes that can arise at a corporate level. She is able to draw upon this insight when counseling insureds to help mitigate risk and protect against future litigation.

Within Pasich LLP, Ms. Carmel spearheaded the creation of Pasich Academy, the firm’s professional development program that provides regular education and training for associates.

Public service is an integral part of Ms. Carmel’s practice and she gives back to the community through pro bono representation and working with a variety of non-profit organizations who need legal assistance with insurance issues.
