New lawyers hoping to counsel clients through a conflict must know more than standard courtroom advocacy. Lawyers often resolve disputes through negotiation, mediation and arbitration – subjects that are often overlooked in law school curricula. In the New York City Bar Association presentation, “Alternative Dispute Resolution: What New Lawyers Must Know,” Managing Associate Stephen Wah joins a panel of experts to discuss the “nuts and bolts” of ADR as well as careers within dispute resolution itself, including roles as mediators, ombudspeople and within government agencies. Panelists will also address the ways in which the pandemic has affected the practice of both litigation and dispute resolution.
The panel is being held December 5, 2022, from 12:30 pm – 2 pm and is free for NYC Bar members. Register here.
